There is anarchy in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State presently, arising from conflict between police and cult groups yesterday, 9:00 am when a police officer killed two people.

The police officer allegedly shot a man suspected to be a member of a confratanity and a woman who was also at a restaurant beside Total Filling Station.

According to eye witness account, some policemen traced the suspected cult member to the restaurant and opened fire on him while he was eating. In the process, the police shot an innocent woman who was also at the scene.

This incident aggravated the members of the affected cult group who teamed up and headed for the Topon Divisional Police station. They demanded for the officer that killed their member but to no avail.

There are however speculations that Topon police station and Elere police station in Oke Agbo were set ablaze by the aggrieved confraternity. This has not yet been confirmed at the time of compiling  this report.
